Metal Belts

I have been loving the look of these metal belts that have been so popular in street style lately. I think I need to invest in one -- it's such a perfect addition to an otherwise simple outfit. I'd wear it with a loose-fitting black blouse or dress and keep the rest of my accessories simple. {A couple of my belt picks here, here, and here.}

A Sewing Project

As I mentioned here I'm wanting to update our bedding with everything white. After I saw these pillows I knew they were perfect for our bedroom. While I was home over the holidays I took advantage of my mom's sewing machine and skills and we worked on our own version of the pillow together. We bought a thick white upholstery fabric and two-inch black velvet ribbon -- overall we were able to do the project very inexpensively. The back is an envelope back which made the whole project very simple. I'm super happy with how they turned out {thanks for the help, Mom!}

Warby Parker

{From top to bottom: Preston | Crosby | Mallory | Cromwell | Everett}

Over the weekend I got to try out Warby Parker's home try-on program. I've been a huge fan of Warby Parker for forever -- I love their stylish take on glasses and their amazing prices. The home try-on program allows you to try on five glasses of your choice for free before making your decision. Genius! Another fabulous thing about Warby Parker: for every pair that's purchased, one pair is donated to someone in need.

 I ended up picking the Crosby {pictured} and the Everett for sunglasses. Thanks, WP!

Weekend

{Oh to be this chic!}

What are your plans for the weekend? We'll be taking it easy in preparation for a hectic week ahead.

A few links from this week:
+ Even though it's January, warmer weather is totally on the brain. Loving this swimsuit.
+ I've been loving Kelsey's blog lately. Her bedroom and living room are so pretty!
+ I just found this gorgeous Etsy shop and am obsessed with everything!

Have a great weekend!

Sheets

One of the things we'll be getting for our London flat {aah!} is new bedding. I love the look of all white, like a hotel. I'm looking for good quality, super soft, ones that won't pill, and won't wrinkle. What are your favorite sheets? Right now I have my eye on these but I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Wide Brimmed Hats

I wasn't a huge fan of this look at first but it's really started to grow on me. I think it can be so chic and it's the perfect solution to a bad hair day. Would you rock the wide brimmed hat?

NEWS

I can finally share some news that I've been wanting to share for a while now. M has accepted a job offer in the UK and we are officially moving to LONDON in the Spring! He will be working for a US company that has offices all over the world -- including London. We're not sure about time frames yet, but we will be living there at least a couple of years.

Living and traveling overseas is something that we've wanted to do together since we've been married and we finally have the perfect opportunity to live in an incredible city in Europe. We've lived in some awesome cities during the two years we've been married but I never thought we would get such an incredible opportunity -- we are beyond thrilled! We're already planning tons of sightseeing, weekend trips to Paris, and becoming bff's with Will and Kate. I hope you'll follow along during this next phase of my life and the blog!

P.S. If you have any tips about moving overseas/things to do in London and Europe I am all ears!

Lavender Ombre Glasses

While I was home over Christmas I went on a fun antiquing trip with my mom and sisters. It's become a tradition {here are some of last year's finds} and this year I scored this gorgeous set of lavender ombre glasses. Ever since Nicole posted about her ombre salad bowls I've been on the hunt for a set of something similar. I included them in a place setting for dinner last night while we were entertaining friends {along with West Elm plates and flatware} and I love the pretty bit of color they added to the table.

P.S. An exciting announcement on the blog tomorrow!

NOLA

We've been in New Orleans the past few days visiting with Matt's sister. It's my first time and I'm completely blown away by what a cool city it is -- we're loving the jazz, good southern food, gorgeous plantations, and of course time with family.

What we did:

For drinks:

For food:
Cafe Du Monde {amazing beignets!}

Have a happy weekend!

P.S. I have some very very exciting news to share next week.* Stay tuned!

*The news has nothing to do with babies/pregnancies. It's better. xoxo

Inspiring Me Lately + Thoughts

Some random thoughts:

+ I'm loving this wardrobe editing chart. Definitely will be consulting it a lot this month as I clear out some unused items in my closet!
+ These BluePrint Cleanse recipes are next on my list to try. I've been wanting to try the cleanse and love the idea of making the juices myself. Any tried and true juicer brands?
+ I've been working on a really fun sewing project with my mom right now -- can't wait to show the results very soon!

Diptyque

Diptyque candles are some of my favorites -- the packaging + branding are perfect, they all smell delicious, and they burn for a really long time. After finishing the Baies candle, the jar now holds my makeup brushes, but I'm loving the idea of using them for greenery + flowers.

Home Goods

I wanted to put together a collage of a few furnishings that are inspiring me lately -- a few of them have inspired some DIY projects and antique finds that I'll be posting about soon. Also one that didn't make it onto the collage: these, and they're on sale! After I saw Christine's collection I had to go and check them out.

A New Year

Making and posting my resolution list last year helped a lot in holding me accountable with goals I made. Here are a few simple ones for this year:

Personal
+ Drink more water {always}
+ Learn more about cooking and baking. Entertain more.
+ Get back into yoga.
+ Read more. Internet less.
+ Save more. Buy less.

 Blogging/Home
+ Get better about documenting outfits. Insta-Outfits hasn't happened for so long!
+ Operation bar cart. I want to turn my bar cart into a working bar, complete with fun drinks and accessories. I'll be documenting my progress on the blog!
+ Document more of my home and home projects.
