Golf Ice Cream Date

Last Saturday Matt and I went to the golf course so he could practice for a big tournament that he's playing in this week. I rode along in the cart and took pictures so he could look at them later and tweak little things. Afterwards, we went to Coldstone (so delish.)

Before we got married, I never paid attention to golf or sports really. I had no idea what a par, birdie or a handicap was. In the same way, Matt didn't think too much about design or art or music, but now he cares because I do.

I used to think that if me and whoever I married had differences that we'd have huge issues and we'd never get along. For us, it's the complete opposite. My mom always says, "Celebrate your differences," and I love that philosophy. The things that Matt likes doing that are different than me are some of the things that I love most about him.

Cross your fingers for his playing in the tournament! Happy weekend.

  6. Good Luck to your guy in the tournament! I think that's one of the best things about love! Being in awe of someone because fo there interests in things that you are not good at OR do not know much about!

  9. And the similarities prevail.
I too am the big art/movie/design buff whereas my boyfriend, Justin, would kill to be a professional golfer (or anything sports related!) Like you, I've found a liking for hockey, golf and even (and I hate to admit it) UFC. It keeps things interesting. And it always makes me feel special when he gets excited about my projects, or wants to check out the latest thing at the AGO because I know he's doing it for me. I think it would be boring to date someone JUST like you anyway!
