Before we got married, I never paid attention to golf or sports really. I had no idea what a par, birdie or a handicap was. In the same way, Matt didn't think too much about design or art or music, but now he cares because I do.
I used to think that if me and whoever I married had differences that we'd have huge issues and we'd never get along. For us, it's the complete opposite. My mom always says, "Celebrate your differences," and I love that philosophy. The things that Matt likes doing that are different than me are some of the things that I love most about him.
Cross your fingers for his playing in the tournament! Happy weekend.

I just came across your blog and I think it's absolutely lovely. I love your mom's philosophy "celebrate your differences" she must be a very wise woman.
ReplyDeleteawww you guys are such a beautiful couple. and your mom is such a wise woman. =)

funny how our mentality changes as we grow...i used to think 30 was old...ummm i guess i had never watched Sex and the City haha! I love these little peaks into your life...so glad marriage is treating you well :)
ReplyDeleteoh yum! i love coldstone :)
ReplyDeleteGood Luck to your guy in the tournament! I think that's one of the best things about love! Being in awe of someone because fo there interests in things that you are not good at OR do not know much about!

love this! so true.
ReplyDeleteour differences will be the reason we get "ESPN America" while we're here in Amsterdam. Haha
Happy weekend!
And the similarities prevail.
ReplyDeleteI too am the big art/movie/design buff whereas my boyfriend, Justin, would kill to be a professional golfer (or anything sports related!) Like you, I've found a liking for hockey, golf and even (and I hate to admit it) UFC. It keeps things interesting. And it always makes me feel special when he gets excited about my projects, or wants to check out the latest thing at the AGO because I know he's doing it for me. I think it would be boring to date someone JUST like you anyway!
you are a great wife for joining your husband in the activities he enjoys and him to yours in return! that is what compromise in a relationship is about and ice cream yum i will always go for that!
ReplyDeletegood luck to matt in his tournament. my boyfriend adores playing golf & i've gone along & ridden in the cart with him before, too. it can really be fun!
ReplyDeleteand thank you for the reminder about 'celebrating your differences.' that is definitely something i need to remember from time to time.
Good luck on the tourney! That ice cream looks delish!
ReplyDeleteaw, good luck to him in his tournament! i think having differences is what makes you complement each other :) definitely a good thing! like, when steven watches football... i go shopping! or maybe sit next to him... and go online shopping!
ReplyDeleteAww! It seems like you guys had such a great day! I love golfing personally and I love going out with friends and play a round just relaxed, hanging out really. But I hope all the best for him for his tournament!
ReplyDeleteOh and cold stone is the absolute best!
